Father of first Nigeria female combat helicopter pilot ,Mr Akintunde Arotile said he spoke to his Daughter before her death.
Tolulope,died as a result of head injuries sustained from a road accident at NAF base Kaduna.
“She told me that she would go make some photocopies and I told her not to stay out long
Around 5.30 p.m, somebody called me and asked if I had called her today and I said yes, then the person told me to call her which I did, but no response.
So, I called her colleagues and they were all crying on phone. I asked what happened, they were just crying. I called one of her bosses who told me that she was in the mortuary.
According to him, he had to drive from Abuja to Lokoja to break the sad news to her mother
He said that this is to enable him break the sad news to her mother because it won’t be easy telling her on phone
She came back late hours and I told her the sad news which I heard but not confirmed He said .
Arotile described his daughter as a very brilliant and wonderful person right from her young age
”I always wondered the kind off IQ she had She has not just been brilliant but wonderful,” he said
He recalled the old days of his daughter when she was young .
She said ,Dad, one day I am going to fly that aircraft and I said Amen…
So from that day, she started working towards that, she got admission to the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna
” I just thank God that she was able to achieve her life dream as a baby before her death.
Her old secondary school classmate knocked her down why trying to reverse her car to greet her properly.
The father added that the support from her peers has been overwhelming.
